The Southern Railway won the medal after 15 years at the All India Railway Swimming Championships in Kolkata.

The 61st All India Railway Swimming Competition for the Railway Zones, including the Central Railway, Western Railway and Southern Railway, was recently held in Kolkata. Soldiers from the Southern Railway also took part in the swimming competition.

Accumulation of medals

At the end of the match, the Southern Railway players took the first place with 133 points. Southwestern Railway Zone players took 112 points and finished 2nd.

In this competition, Emil Robbinsing, a ticket examiner from Madurai division, won 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. Chennai Ticket Examiner Abbasuddin won 3 gold, one silver and 3 bronze medals. Kerala State Kannanur ticket inspector Anoop Augustine won 3 gold and 3 silver medals while Chennai Central Railway Station ticket inspector Pawan Gupta won 5 gold, one silver and 2 bronze medals.

Also, Pawan Gupta is the fastest swimmer in Indian Railways. It is noteworthy that after 15 years, the Southern Railway has won the All India Swimming Championships.

Southern Railway Additional General Manager Mallya, Sports Club President, Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer Madhusudan and Assistant Sports Officer Saramma congratulated the swimmers who won and participated in these competitions.

Also, Madurai Divisional Railway Senior Commercial Manager Prasanna, Divisional Commercial Manager Venkata Subramaniam, Assistant Commercial Manager Pramod Kumar and Commercial Division Officers congratulated Emil who won 8 medals.
