Circle bracket: After years of working with the media in Israel and around the world, Brigadier General Ronen Menalis, a former IDF spokesman, crosses the lines and joins the Public Broadcasting Corporation.
Menalis served in the IDF for 24 years, most of them in intelligence positions. In 2017, Menalis was appointed to his last position in the army as IDF Spokesman. In 2021, he was appointed director general of the Ministry of Strategic Affairs, which has since been disbanded, during the term of Minister Orit Farkash-Hacohen.
Menalis, together with Gili Cohen’s political correspondent Gili Cohen, will present a weekly program every Thursday at 6:00 PM here on Net B, which will deal with policy, social and national security issues and try to delve into the behind-the-scenes processes in the corridors of government using the extensive knowledge of Both in the issues at hand.
“My dream for years”
For Menalis, it seems to be a prayer that comes true. “A regular weekly hour with Gili Cohen has been my dream for years. Unfortunately / fortunately, you too can listen to it,” he wrote in a tweet he posted to his Twitter account. Menalis joins News 12’s veteran presenter, Oded Ben-Ami, who was also a former IDF spokesman from 1996-2000, and was even the communications adviser to the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
