The Netherlands has announced that it is expelling 17 Russian intelligence officials, citing threats to their country’s national security.
A statement from the Netherlands’ Foreign Ministry said, “The Russian ambassador to the Netherlands has been summoned in connection with the deportation of 17 Russian intelligence officials who have been identified as embassy officials. This decision was made for national security reasons. The intelligence threat against the Netherlands is high. Russia’s current approach makes the presence of those intelligence officials undesirable. “
