Doha: Qatar says it has no plans to make new investments in Russia. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has stated that he has no plans to make new investments or increase existing ones in Russia until Russia’s environment improves and political stability is achieved.

Under the current circumstances, new investments are not being considered not only in Russia but also in areas where there seems to be a political crisis in Europe. There will be no new investment until the stability of the situation is clarified.

The Foreign Minister told CNN in an interview with the Doha Forum that the Qatar Investment Authority has no plans to increase its investment in Russian oil company Rosneft.
