Opposition parties in the Pakistani parliament have passed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government. The resolution will be debated tomorrow (Thursday). It is expected that the poll will be held on the 3rd following that.
But the MQM-B, the main ally of the Imran Khan-led PTI, withdrew its support for the government. The opposition Pakistan People’s Party has announced its support for the party. As a result, Imran Khan’s government lost its majority in Pakistan. The Imran Khan government has suffered a setback even before the confidence vote.
With Imran Khan losing the majority, it was reported that he would step down. Pakistan People’s Party leader Bhutto Bhutto has said that Shabash Sharif is likely to be the new Prime Minister.
But Minister Fawad Chaudhry has categorically stated that Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan will not resign ahead of the confidence vote. He also said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is a player who fights till the last ball.
