Dilshad’s journey with Kerala bullet; In Saudi Arabia through the ‘Rubul Khali’ desert across many countries

by time news

Dilshad arrived in Saudi Arabia on an 800-kilometer enfield bike ride a day alone through the Rubul Khali, the largest Arabian desert connecting Dammam, Saudi Arabia and Oman. Pidiyekkal Dilshad, a native of Chelempra in Malappuram district, is an adventure traveler. After riding his bike from Ramanatukara to Mumbai, he shipped his Enfield Standard 350 bike to the UAE. After touching all the Emirates in the UAE, he returned to Oman. Dilshad reached this distance from Oman through the Rubul Khali desert. Last January, P. Dilshad told Manorama Online that Abdul Hameed MLA flagged off his journey from Ramanatukara after crossing the Jordan-Egypt-Palestine route and was targeting Africa.

He says that travel is always difficult and that it is his unquenchable passion for it that inspires such adventures. For the first time, there was opposition from homeowners as part of a precautionary measure when traveling to Kashmir, which is enticing to any traveler. Later they were taken on a journey through the beautiful land known as the Seven Sisters of North India. Each trip was in search of the villages and ordinary life of India. India is a part of the world. Dilshadh said the experience of overcoming prejudices was “going from place to place and the reception and support was unexpected.” Has visited all the states of India. The beauty of Kashmir is indescribable. He also said that India as a whole is a man who has traveled the world. Variations in appearance, behavior, color, food, and dress were directly evident.

Currently planning a world tour. Intact Arabic culture still exists in Saudi villages. That is what inspired me to decide on such a trip to Saudi Arabia. Will be here in a month. He has worked as a house driver in Makkah for the past two years and has ties to Saudi. The Border received overwhelming support and reception, including from the authorities. When entering Rubul al-Khali, they had only one instruction. Do not stop anywhere in between the wild trail of the desert. He was sent away with a bag full of food and juice, with instructions to cross the border in a single trip. The trip was as miserable and scary as expected. The four-wheeler driven by the adventurous Arabs went out of control and had to witness the accident first hand.

Spread over an area of 650,000 square kilometers in the Arabian Peninsula, which includes Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen and the UAE, Rubഉl Khali is the hottest, driest, and rugged desert. The desert stretches as far as the confluence of France, Belgium and the Netherlands. The average temperature here is around 50 degrees Celsius in summer and below zero in winter.

The length of the road from Ummul-Samul to Batta is 564 km. The road, which was used only by adventure travelers, was opened to the public last December. The road, which shares a border with Saudi Arabia and Oman, crosses a desolate and wild desert, hence the name ‘Rubul Khali’ (Empty Quarter). The total length of the road will be 725 km. Dilshad said he had to travel more than 800 km at a time to reach the settlement from there.

Road deserts are characterized by rugged terrain, harsh climate, and wilderness. With this in mind, the Saudi government has implemented a transportation plan to facilitate the travel of pilgrims and tourists. The safety of the road is ensured in accordance with the highest international standards. The oasis is considered an engineering marvel by the Saudi Ministry of Logistics. With the opening of Rubul Khali, Saudi Arabia has made it possible for all Gulf countries to have access to the Gulf by land, provided they had earlier access to Saudi Arabia by air from other GCC countries.

Sandstorms are the main obstacle on this route. Dirshad says that he came across such mounds throughout the journey. Authorities say 150 million cubic meters of sand have been removed and 12 million cubic meters of sand protection equipment has been installed along the route to make way for the long stretch. Although Rubu’l Khali is an adventurous and dangerous route, it reduces the travel time between the two countries from 18 hours to 6 hours.

Dilshad kicks his way to the nearest Jubilee area, saying that he is indescribably grateful to see a Kerala-registered two-wheeler with the Indian flag flying through the streets of Saudi Arabia, including Malayalees, filling their minds with food and fuel.
