Vittorio Sgarbi opens GEOgrafie Festival in Monfalcone with a lesson on Raphael

Tomorrow, Wednesday 30 March, the fourth edition of Monfalcone GEOgrafie Festival opens with Vittorio Sgarbi’s lesson dedicated to Raphael and the “geographies of beauty”, the billboard that explores the geographical and human landscapes, the real, mental and virtual routes of our time. At 5.30 pm in Piazza della Repubblica the critic and art historian will draw the portrait of the man and the artist Raffaello Sanzio.

“Raphael – explains Sgarbi – is also Giorgione, he is Caravaggio, he is Michelangelo, he is Parmigianino. He is everything: no one is ‘more everything’ than him. What Raphael did is an extension of God’s creation and the beauty of the world, an absolute beauty, without limits “.

Monfalcone GEOgrafie thus crosses the finish line of the 4th edition, promoted by the Municipality of Monfalcone with the Pordenonelegge Foundation. At the inauguration tomorrow also the president of the autonomous region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga. On the stage of the Festival, until next Sunday, Mario Tozzi, Vittorino Andreoli, Francesca Michielin, Marianna Aprile, Carlo Lucarelli, Davide Rondoni, Anna Toscano and Mary Barbara Tolusso, Elio Ciol, Enrico Galiano, Federica Manzon, Luca will alternate among others Beatrice and even Pier Paolo Pasolini and Maria Callas on the big screen, told in Sergio Naitza’s documentary “L’isola di Medea”.
