Israeli national team players celebrate (Hagai Michaeli)
After the international window ended with quite a few games around the world, some preparatory meetings and others fateful and critical in the fight for promotion to the World Cup – FIFA published the updated national team ranking, as of March 31 and about a month and a half since the last ranking was published (10.2).
In the Israeli angle, despite the two preparatory games that ended in a 2: 0 loss to Germany and 2: 2 with Romania, the team in blue and white rose one place, from 77 to 76 where it is currently, with the next above us being Oman, El Salvador, Bulgaria And Iraq.
At the summit there is drama. Brazil rose to first place in the world and ousted Belgium, which dropped to second place after four years in which it breathed the air of peaks. The sequel remains as it was: France third, Argentina fourth, England fifth, and Italy sixth (despite the big defeat and relegation from the playoffs to the World Cup).
The top ten is completed by Spain in seventh, Portugal in eighth, Mexico in ninth place (rose from 12th place and took Denmark out of the top ten), and the Netherlands in tenth.
