The first Test between South Africa and Bangladesh is being played in Durban. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Captain Dean Elgar and Charle Ervey banged in as South African openers. This pairing gave South Africa a great start. Elgar, who added 113 for the first wicket, was dismissed for 67 for fifty. Erway was dismissed for 41 in the next over.
Hope player Keegan Peterson was run out for 19 runs. Ryan Rickelton was also dismissed for just 21 runs.
Despite the wickets falling, Temba Bauma showed restraint. Kyle Verne co-starred with him and played.
The first day’s play ended early due to insufficient light. The pair continued to watch the wickets fall until the end of the first day’s play.
