Russian Foreign Minister to visit India today for talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Ukraine issue

As India maintains a neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine issue, the Russian Foreign Minister’s visit to India has attracted international attention.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrives in India on a two – day state visit amid Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Welcoming his official visit, Union Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Baxi said on his Twitter account.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov will meet Prime Minister Modi and Union Foreign Minister Jaishankar in Delhi today.

During the meeting, Lavrov is expected to brief Prime Minister Modi on Russia’s action on Ukraine and peace talks with the country.

India has so far maintained a neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine war.

India continues to urge both sides to abandon the war and find a negotiated solution to the problem. In this context, the visit of the Russian Foreign Minister to India has received international attention.
