Krishnagiri district Veppanappalli assembly constituency has been accused of acquiring agricultural land in the name of setting up factories in rural areas.
AIADMK Deputy Coordinator Veppanappalli MLA condemned the acquisition of agricultural land in the name of setting up factories. Air KP Munusamy is engaged in a hunger strike today.
The Choolagiri taluka office has previously sat alone and started a hunger strike.
KP was seen standing alone in front of the taluka office with a banner that read, ‘Do not expropriate the land of the farmers, do not confiscate the land of the farmers in the name of setting up a factory on the agricultural land which is the livelihood of 5,000 farming families’. Munusamy is on a hunger strike. The protest has caused a great stir in the area.
