We were able to see it for the first time in January, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and even then everything pointed to the new OnePlus 10 Pro It was destined to become one of the best high-end terminals this year. Now, the phone has just been officially presented and those suspicions are confirmed: an impeccable design, luxurious hardware and seamless software make this terminal one of the safest bets for this 2022.

Let’s start with the screen, which is one of the strengths of this new 10 Pro. We are facing a Fluid AMOLED panel of 6.7 inches, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a QHD + resolution. This is OnePlus’ best display to date.

In fact, it includes second-generation LTPO (or low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) technology, whose main advantage is that it allows the screen to automatically adjust its refresh rate based on the content being viewed at any given time. Thus, if we are watching videos or any application that involves movement, the refresh rate will increase to 120 Hz. But if we watch photos, or any other static content, that rate can be reduced, as needed, to a minimum of 1 Hz, consuming much less battery. As is well known, the screen is the largest source of energy consumption in a phone, and this automatic adjustment allows us to save up to 30% battery.

But that is not all. The One Plus 10 Pro’s display is the first in the industry to include Dual Color Calibration, which optimizes colors at any brightness level. Thanks to its Artificial Intelligence, in addition, the terminal ‘learns’ our tastes when it comes to viewing content and, when it detects them, automatically adapts the brightness to our preferred levels, without us having to do anything.

Finally, noteworthy is the function Super Video Resolution, capable of automatically scaling the resolution, multiplying it by four, in videos that have a quality lower than 720p, something, for example, that is very common on YouTube. Super Resolution is achieved by activating ‘Picture Sharpening’ in the screen’s own settings.

guaranteed performance

Regarding the processor, OnePlus has had no doubts, and has decided to incorporate the most powerful one from the Qualcomm factory, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, one of the most efficient and most used in this year’s high-end. In addition to quadrupling its AI capabilities, the chip is 20% more powerful than previous ones and improves energy efficiency by 30%. The 8 or 12 GB of RAM that accompany it (depending on the version we choose) guarantee the maximum fluidity of the applications, no matter how demanding they are. This spectacular performance is enhanced by the Oxigen OS 12 operating system, based on Android 12, which enables new levels of customization.

The 5,000 milliamp battery comes with the 80W SuperVooc fast charging system, which allows the OnePlus 10 Pro to charge from 0 to 100% in just 32 minutes. It also has a 50W wireless charging system. In this case, the battery will take 47 minutes to fully recharge.

An ambitious photographic system

In this section, it should be noted that the collaboration with Hasselblad continues, which continues to lend the Chinese manufacturer its experience when it comes to calibrating the cameras and color adjustment. The new terminal comes equipped with a triple rear camera, with a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle and 150-degree aperture, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. An ambitious combination that promises excellent results, although for that we will have to wait to carry out the appropriate tests with the terminal. The interface, complete and intuitive, is the same as what we saw in the previous OnePlus 9 Pro from last year. The front camera, meanwhile, is 32 megapixels and is located behind a small hole in the screen. The sound is provided by two stereo speakers located at the top and bottom of the terminal.

As for the design, highlight the use of glass on the back (protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5), ceramic glass in the module that houses the cameras and aluminum in all the frames and bezels of the phone. A premium terminal with all the letters. The dimensions are 163 x 73.9 x 8.55 mm and the weight is 200.5 g.

The price of the new OnePlus 10 Pro will be from 899 euro for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB for storage.
