Violette Duval, a 37-year-old from Normandy with fibromyalgia, has set herself a challenge. She decided to walk from Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), where she left on March 19, to Paris. His goal is to have his illness recognized as a long-term condition by Social Security, explains The Dauphine Libere.
She reached Pierrelatte (Drôme) on Tuesday. The 1,000 km journey is due to end on April 12, 2021, World Fibromyalgia Day. At home, the pathology is manifested daily by “very acute joint and muscle pain, the skull compressed permanently”. Violette Duval has been ill since she was 14 and has had seizures since she was 25.
A stroller and meetings
The 30-year-old is not at her first challenge. In 2019, she reached Marseille from Mont-Saint-Michel via Spain, i.e. 6,700 km. During this new walk, the Normande will use her stroller to help her. Along the way, she plans to meet doctors to raise awareness about fibromyalgia.
