Tennis duo Mika Buchnik and Karin Altori, who have been considered a great promise in Israeli tennis and have been training together for about two years, recorded another impressive achievement today (Saturday), after beating the ITF Level 3 doubles final in Cancun, Mexico, over tennis players Sapir Cohen from Israel and Victoria and her heart in two sets (1: 6, 1: 6).
Buchnik even qualified for the finals of the singles tournament and will later compete for the title against the Argentine Chiara di Gnova. Also, the young tennis player Ofek Shimanov recorded a wonderful achievement in the tournament with qualifying for the finals in singles, where he will play against Edward Winter from Australia.
The three, who train at the tennis and education centers in Israel, are in a series of tournaments in Cancun. Last week, the 15-year-old Altori recorded the biggest achievement in the World Youth Tour, after defeating Mexican tennis player Lia Fernandez 0-2 (2: 6, 2: 6) in the singles final. Buchnik, the finalist of the prestigious Les Petit As tournament in France, already won the ITF tournament in Ramat Hasharon in January this year.
