Ethiopian Deso Gelmisa won the Paris marathon on Sunday, April 3, in which Frenchman Morhad Amdouni took 3e place, with the key to a new French record.
Gelmisa won at the end of the 42.195 km with a time of 2 h 5 min 7 s, ahead of his compatriot Seifu Tura (2 h 5 min 10 s) and Amdouni (2 h 5 min 22 s). Amdouni improved by more than a minute the French record set by Benoît Zwierzchiewski during the 2003 edition of this Paris marathon (2 h 6 min 36 s).
Kenyan Judith Jeptum won the Paris Marathon with a time of 2:19:48, a new event record. Jeptum beat two Ethiopians, Fanti Jimma, 2e (2 h 22 min 52 s), et Besu Sado, 3e (2 h 23 min 16 s).
Jeptum, 26, improved by more than a minute the previous record of the event (2 h 20 min 55 s) which dates from 2017.
