“Runners in their memory” (The Way of the Legs Association)
The traditional “Runners in Memory” race will be held on the upcoming Memorial Day for the sixth year in a row. The race has no starting point or podium and can be reached from anywhere the registrants choose, when it is held at the same time all over the country. The race is open to anyone who is interested in running in memory of a dear person and in addition also in memory of a random faller who appears on the “Runners in Their Memory” website, which centers the names of tens of thousands of fallen since the establishment of the state.
The leader and founder of “Runners in Their Memory” is Boaz Yaakov, a running enthusiast who in his military service lost some of his good friends. “The race crosses sectors, testimonies and opinions and aims to allow us as a nation to remember all the fallen wherever they are. I invite all the people of Israel to join us this year in this exciting project that has already become a tradition for many,” he said. Jacob.
The cost of registration is symbolic at a rate of 10 shekels, with the system on the website randomly locating the name of a person who falls in the Israeli systems in memory of which the participants will run.
