The interior minister has said that despite the no-confidence motion, the president has asked Imran Khan to remain in office until a new leader is elected.
The Pakistani parliament has passed a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan. The vote on the resolution is scheduled for Sunday. Pakistani Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid spoke to reporters in Islamabad. He said, “Even if the no-confidence motion brought by the opposition against the Imran Khan government wins, the President has asked that Imran Khan remain in office until the next Prime Minister is elected. With this in mind, Imran Khan will continue as Prime Minister.
The constitution does not say when the new leader will be elected. Following this this hopeless resolution is a foreign conspiracy. Opposition parties must be charged with treason for their complicity. ”
