Time.news – The victory of Prime Minister Viktyor Orban and his party, Fidesz, is looming in a second poll released after the closing of the polls in Hungary: according to the Rtl Klub survey, Fidesz would get 49% of the votes, against the 41% obtained by alliance of opposition parties.
According to this poll – perfectly in line with the one released immediately after the closing of the polls – Orban’s government formation would win 121 seats out of 199 against the 77 of ‘United for Hungary’ of candidate Peter Marki-Zay. However, it is important to underline that RTL Klub is not an exit poll, which is not done in Hungary.
Already in a first survey, made by the Median polling institute, the formation of Orban, Fidesz, would have obtained 49% of the votes, while the opposition coalition “United for Hungary” – which brings together left-wing, environmentalist, liberal and populist right-wing parties – 41%.
At 3 pm, four hours after the closing of the polls, the turnout in the Hungarian general elections was 52.75%, just 1% less than in the 2018 elections (53.64%).
Polling stations will close at 7pm across Hungary when the voting will end. However, those already in line at the 7pm point will be able to cast their vote. The National Election Office (NVI) will announce the first results at about 9pm.https://t.co/7QawZRk1Tf

Median’s figure is not an exit poll since the poll was conducted between Thursday and Friday, but the survey is the most recent on voting intentions and the only one published so far after the polls closed at 7pm.
According to Median, Fidesz would have 121 deputies out of 199 in Parliament, while the opposition would get 77. The remaining deputy would be a representative of the German minority that usually supports Orban’s formation.
Gergely Gulyas, minister and close collaborator of the premier, said he was optimistic: “The first results give us hope”. The official data will be released starting from 21:00 while the turnout should be very high since at 18:30 it was 67.8%, a figure very similar to that of 2018, a record turnout with 70.2% .
