Kunrathur: A protest on behalf of the Congress party took place near the Kunrathur bus stand yesterday, condemning the Union government for sharply raising petrol, diesel and cooking gas cylinder prices. Kanchipuram District Business Division Head VLC Ravi presided. They expressed their opposition to the United States in a modern way, such as wearing an evening gown to a scooter and cooking on a wood stove. This was followed by chanting slogans against the Union Government and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi carrying advertising banners in their hands. The women who took part in the demonstration recorded their protest by wearing evening dresses and handing over the cooking gas cylinder. It was attended by more than a hundred Congressmen. The protesting Congressmen warned that if the Union Government did not immediately reduce the prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas cylinders, such protests against the Union Government would take place all over Tamil Nadu again.
