Police arrived at the scene and found the bodies of six people. Ten people injured in the incident have been admitted to hospital. Information on the condition of the injured has not been released. It is not clear how many people are currently involved in the shooting.
The shooter is in hiding
Police have asked people to be notified if they receive information about the shooter. California Gov. Gavin Nusom said in a statement that his administration is working with law enforcement agencies. Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg mourned the loss of life in the incident. He described the rising number of shootings as “worrying about the state and the country”.

Video footage of the incident has been released. In a video shared on Twitter, people can be seen running down the street when they hear gunshots in the background. Several ambulances were seen leaving the scene.
