The world-famous IPL 2022 cricket series has got off to a rousing start in Mumbai. The series, which started on March 26 last year, has reached its first week successfully and most of the 10 matches played so far have gone to the last over and entertained the fans. Tilak Verma, now only 19 years old, hails from Hyderabad. However, the Mumbai Indians bought him for a hefty sum of Rs 1.7 crore in this year’s mega auction due to unrealism in local cricket. Tilak Verma, who has started to rise to such heights, has shared the background of his normal life as his family does not even have a home of their own. Here is what he had to say about it. ”I grew up in an economically disadvantaged family. My father’s low salary was not enough to buy my cricket equipment and my brother’s tuition fees. However over the last few years I have been taking care of my cricket expenses myself through the salary I get from the cricket matches I play and a few less sponsorships. We do not own a house yet so I will keep it as much as I earn in this IPL series and buy a house for my parents first. The money will help me play cricket for the rest of my life in good condition, ”he said.
