Foreign Minister Jaishankar is holding consultations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the economic crisis in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankans continue to struggle as fuel and food shortages continue due to the severe economic crisis.

During his visit to Sri Lanka last week, Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar met with Adibah Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa to discuss economic issues.

In this context, Jaisankar, who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, has been consulting on the ongoing economic crisis in Sri Lanka and the political cycle in Pakistan.

Earlier in the day, the country’s president ordered the dissolution of parliament and the holding of elections in three months, at the request of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.
