In 1937 the airship Hindenburg is the Concorde of its time. But the huge and luxuriously equipped zeppelin uses highly flammable hydrogen as lifting gas. On May 6, the ship caught fire while attempting to land in Lakehurst, New Jersey, killing 36 people. The exact cause of the accident is never finally clarified. Newly discovered film footage is now inspiring two experts to reconstruct the exact course of the catastrophe with scientific support.
