Delhi: Fuel price hike in the country today as usual. Petrol and diesel prices were hiked at midnight. Petrol price has been hiked by 87 paise per liter. Diesel prices have been hiked by 84 paise per liter.

Fuel prices have been rising in the country for the past day as well. Petrol price was hiked by 87 paise per liter yesterday. Diesel prices were hiked by 84 paise per liter yesterday. After a gap of 137 days, prices have continued to rise. Since March 21, prices have risen every day in a row, except for one day.

Meanwhile, the Union Petroleum Minister came out with an explanation on the fuel price hike. The minister’s explanation is in Parliament. Union Petroleum Minister HS Puri said in the Lok Sabha that India has not experienced the price hike experienced in various parts of the world.

Fuel prices in India have risen by only one-tenth as much as in other countries. Between April and March 2021, fuel prices increased by 51% in the US, 52% in Canada, 55% in Germany, 55% in France, 50% in Spain and 58% in Spain. At the same time in India it is only five per cent. HS Puri said in the Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, the Janata Dal (United), an ally of the central government, has opposed the daily rise in fuel prices in the country. KC Tyagi, the party’s principal general secretary, demanded that the petrol price hike be withdrawn.

We request the government to reverse the increase in fuel prices, including cooking gas, in the last 15 days. The government should immediately stop inflating petrol, diesel and cooking gas.

It is important to reverse fuel price hikes as they will worsen inflation. Tyagi said inflation was also affecting voters who had helped the NDA win the election with enthusiasm.
