RN Ravi assumed office as the Governor of Tamil Nadu on September 18 last year. When he was already the Governor of Nagaland, he was the one who diverted the protest groups to the path of peace and there was an expectation from all parties as to what his function would be in Tamil Nadu.
Opposition to the Governor of Tamil Nadu
However, even before he took over as Tamil Nadu governor, Tamil Nadu Congress leader KS Alagiri and Liberation Tigers of Tamil Nadu leader Thirumavalavan had expressed strong opposition. They also demanded that the Central Government withdraw the appointment of Governor Ravi.
After RN Ravi became the Governor of Tamil Nadu, parties like the Marxist Communist Party, the Communist Party of India and Madhimuga began to press for the same.
Meanwhile, the DMK government passed a bill seeking exemption for Tamil Nadu from the NEET test in the Assembly on September 13 and sent it to the Governor.
Governor returns NEET bill !!
However, Governor Ravi sent the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly back to the Speaker on February 1, claiming that the NEET exemption bill was against social justice. This came as a shock to all DMK alliance leaders, including Chief Minister Stalin.
Because during Stalin’s election campaign, DMK leader Stalin continued to promise that once the DMK was in power, the first signature would be the cancellation of the NEET election. Similarly, DMK Youth Secretary Udayanithi said that the secret behind the cancellation of NEET examination was known only to us.
Thus the return of the bill seeking exemption from the selection of Governor Ravi Neet became a matter of honor for the DMK leaders.
The DMK government passed the bill again
Thus, on February 8, the DMK government again convened a special meeting of the Legislature and passed the bill seeking exemption from NEET examination and sent it to the Governor.
Chief Minister Stalin thought that Governor Ravi would send the bill to the President for consideration, as there was a practice of sending it to the President for consideration by the President. But two months on, the bill has not yet been sent to the governor or president.
The Chief Minister who met and talked with the Governor
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Stalin, who met with Governor Ravi a few weeks ago, expressed hope that the governor would soon send a bill seeking exemption from the NEET test to the President for approval.
But so far no benefit has been obtained. At the same time, Governor Ravi is seen to be at odds with the DMK government’s policy not only on the issue of the bill seeking exemption for NEET examination, but also on many important issues such as new education policy and spiritual culture.
Not only the NEET Exemption Bill but also the law amendment bill to reduce the term of office of Co-operative Societies from 5 years to 3 years, the Bill passed by the Government of Tamil Nadu on the appointment of Vice Chancellor to the Tamil Nadu Veterinary University, the Bill regarding the admission of 5 members from private colleges under Bharathiyar University, life imprisonment prisoners They say 10 bills, including the release bill, are awaiting the governor’s approval.
Stalin who met Amit Shah
It is said that Chief Minister Stalin, who was on a three-day visit to Delhi for the recent DMK office opening ceremony, expressed his condolences to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Even after that, Tamil Nadu Governor Ravi did not budge.
DMK MP Wilson has filed an individual bill in the Delhi Upper House urging the Governor to take a decision on the legal bills to be sent to the Governor within the stipulated time frame.
DMK MP urges Tamil Nadu Governor to withdraw
At the same time, DR Balu issued a notice on behalf of the DMK in the Lok Sabha urging the Governor to withdraw. But the Speaker did not allow a debate on this.
Commenting on this, DR Balu said, “The Governor of Tamil Nadu continues to violate Article 200 of the Constitution. Therefore, a notice of intent was issued to the Speaker requesting that he be withdrawn. ”
With this, it must be said that the conflict between the Governor of Tamil Nadu and the DMK government has reached its climax.
Comment by political critics
Commenting on this, political observers in Delhi said: “Stalin, the DMK leader, thought that after 10 years in power in Tamil Nadu, he could rule without any problems. This is because Purohit was the governor of Panwar who did not speak much at the time of his inauguration as Chief Minister. But he was abruptly transferred to the state of Punjab and was appointed Governor of Tamil Nadu by Ravi, who had worked in the Central Government and also in the intelligence service for a long time. And because he is an IPS officer, he always has the habit of behaving rudely.
Annamalai – RS Bharathi clash
At the same time the DMK finds out what the government and the ministers are doing and if there is any beast or problem in it, the state BJP leader puts Annamalai in public and breaks it down.
Recently, DMK MP RS Bharathi warned Annamalai that he would go to jail in time, and the DMK leadership could not digest Annamalai’s retaliation that half the DMK would be in jail in time if we take action. That is why they do not talk much about Annamalai now.
Apart from the fact that nothing can be done without the knowledge of the Governor who is the first head of the Tamil Nadu government, it is obvious that the DMK is suffering.
Even if Prime Minister Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari were present at the inauguration of the DMK office building in Delhi on the 2nd, the DMK leadership may have thought that it could be used to their advantage in Tamil Nadu. But nothing like that happened.
The main reason for this is that the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Ravi, has duly brought to the notice of Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah what the DMK government is doing to create anti-Central Government sentiment among the people of Tamil Nadu.
The governor who broke the DMK plan
Angered that the governor had bragged about their plan, DMK MPs raised their voices in parliament demanding his withdrawal.
Can guess what they are starting with.
The date for this year’s NEET exam has also been announced. Therefore, for the second year in a row, the DMK government has been unable to prevent the NEET examination in Tamil Nadu. There is also a need to run specialized training centers for government school students to meet the NEED test.
Thus, the conflict between the Governor of Tamil Nadu Ravi-DMK government is likely to turn into a catastrophe. This will continue for at least another two years. ”
