Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Rajasthan Royals by four wickets in the IPL. Dinesh Karthik (44 * off 23 balls) and Shahbaz Ahmed (45 off 26 balls) were the main contributors to Bangalore’s victory. With five balls to spare, Bangalore chased down Rajasthan’s target of 170 by six wickets.

Captains Faf Duplessis and Anuj Rawat gave Bangalore a great start as they chased down Rajasthan’s target. In the power play, they scored 48 not out to dominate the match for Bangalore. But in the next over, Yusvendra Chahal gave Rajasthan a break through. Duplessis, who scored 29 off 20 balls, was bowled by Bolt. Soon after, Rawat (26 off 25 balls) was caught by Saini behind Sanju. Kohli then took the wicket of Rajasthan to seal the match. Chahal received a superb throw from Sanju in Chahal’s over to run out the former Bangalore captain. Kohli scored just five runs off six balls. In the next over, Chahal bowled a clean bowl to David Willie (zero off two balls) to put Bangalore in the lead.

Saini struck out Rutherford (5 off 10 balls) as Bangalore struggled to lift the innings from the brink. Karthik joined Shahbaz at 5 for 87. Later, the game was seen changing. With Karthik teaming up with Shahbaz to start scoring boundaries, runs began to get easier to Bangalore’s scoreboard. Once established, they moved forward with confidence and gave Bangalore hope of victory. Finally, in the fifth ball of the 18th over, Shahbaz (45 off 26 balls) was bowled by Bolt to break the tie. The duo added 67 runs for the sixth wicket. Shahbaz was out but was replaced by Herschelle Patel (nine off four balls) to help Bangalore win the toss.

Yusvendra Chahal and Trent Bolt took two wickets each for Rajasthan.

Earlier in the day, Rajasthan Royals lost the toss and opted to bat first.

Butler and Hetmeyer led Rajasthan to 169 in the death overs. Both batsmen added 62 runs in the last four overs for Rajasthan.

In bowling for Bangalore, Hasaranga, David Wiley and Herschelle Patel took one wicket each.
