The ICC is currently nominating players to identify the best player for last March. The nominees include Pakistan captain Babur Assam, West Indies’ Craig Broadway and Australia captain Pat Cummins.
Also on the nomination list for women are the names of Sophie Ecclestone, Laura Wallward and Rachel Haynes. The ICC will soon announce the winner.

Babur is expected to win the award for his outstanding performance during the recent home series against Australia. Baber topped the batting rankings in all three formats. Baber topped the Test series’ scoring rankings. He scored 390 runs in his five games at an average of 78, including two half-centuries and a century. The highlight of the series was his 196 in the second innings of the second Test in Karachi.
Baber continued his fine form in the ODI series, playing crucial innings in the first two games. In the first ODI, he scored 57 off Pakistan’s 88-run defeat, before which he scored an impressive 118 to put Pakistan ahead by six wickets in the second.
The Pakistan captain had scored 66 off 46 balls in the only T20I match on Tuesday, but Australia chased down the target of 163 to end their historic tour with a win.
