Opposition parties have alleged that a friend of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife left the country with a bag worth Rs 67 lakh. Farah Khan, a friend of Imran’s third wife Bushra Beevi, had entered Dubai on Sunday for fear of arrest in a corruption case.
A picture of Farah Khan traveling on a private jet was circulated on Twitter yesterday. In the picture there is a luxury bag next to them. However, it is not clear when the photo was taken. Opposition leaders in Pakistan have accused the bag of being worth Rs 67 lakh.
Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Romina Khurshid Alam tweeted that Bushra’s friend Farah Khan had left the country with a bag worth Rs 67 lakh. There were rumors that Farah Khan would be arrested if the new government came to power in Pakistan. Her husband Ahsan Jamil Gujjar had earlier gone to the US.
The opposition alleges that Farah was involved in bribery and relocation of officials at his discretion and embezzled six billion Pakistani rupees.
Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and vice-president of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), has accused Farah of corruption at the behest of Imran and his wife.
