by time news

Carlo Verdone came up with the idea for his fourth directorial comedy, “Water and soap” (film later released in 1983), after having seen a Rai news report – produced by Carlo Sartori – which recounted the phenomenon of the so-called baby models . It is one of them, Sandy Walsh (played by a then very young and newcomer Natasha Hovey), the protagonist of the film: arrived in Rome with her mother (Florinda Bolkan) and stepfather Ted (Glenn Saxson) she meets Rolando Ferrazza (Carlo Verdone ), a thirty-year-old graduate with honors – perpetually waiting for a teaching position – who lives with his grandmother (Elena Fabrizi). Ferrazza pretends to be father Michael Spinetti, a well-known theologian and professor contacted by the girl’s parents looking for a private teacher, but one day Sandy discovers the truth and makes a pact with Rolando: she will keep silence but he will have to help her escape his modeling routine full of sacrifices and sacrifices. Waiting to see this cult comedy, on air but on Cine34 at 18.55, here is a collection of little-known curiosities to discover.
