Models against Neta Alchemister: “We got a swimsuit instead of money”

The “Bennhut” swimwear brand by Neta Alchemister and Noa Benny presented the Summer 2022 collection at the Kornit Tel Aviv Fashion Week yesterday (Wednesday). Those who were less pleased with the result are the swimwear models, who claimed to have received money instead, well, a swimsuit.

Precisely the models who were required for the biggest challenge, walking on a runway in a swimsuit, did not receive payment. According to Eran Suissa’s publication in Israel Today, in the “Bannhut” brand headed by two models, it was decided to save on expenses and give a swimsuit instead of money. “It is clear to them that for every one who refuses, there are ten other models who will say yes and no one wants to miss the opportunity,” one of the models told Eran Suissa.

As a rule, the payment for the march on display is about NIS 500 per model, including the measurements and preparations before, and although the matter of swimwear is pre-matched with the production, there are some models who came out unhappy with the deal. “I do not know what happens to Neta but in my case with a swimsuit you do not go to the grocery store or to the bank,” said another model. “Precisely from a company of two women who model themselves, we would expect at least a token amount. Neta would agree to march in exchange for a garment? I was offended mainly for them.”

As you may recall, this year the brand “Bennhut” collaborated with the international illustrator Talia Zoref with the creation NFT Common. According to the brand, all proceeds from the sale of the work will go to the Finzi Moore Mothers’ Fund, an organization that funds children’s classes for single mothers in south Tel Aviv.
