Jayasekar, the driver who testified in court in the Sathankulam father-son murder case, said there was blood on Jayaraj-Pennix’s clothes when he came out of the police station.
The incident in which a father-son Jayaraj-Pennix were killed in a police raid in 2020 in Sathankulam, Thoothukudi district, came as a shock. In this case, the CBI has filed a chargesheet against 9 persons, including Sathankulam police station inspector Sridhar and pro-investigators. The case came up for hearing in the Madurai District First Additional Court yesterday.
Chief Constable Jayasekar, who was then the driver of former police inspector Sridhar, testified in person. Jayasekar testified that while he was near the police vehicle, he heard a roar from inside the police station and the next morning there was blood on the bodies and clothes of both Jayaraj and Phoenix. Following this, the judge adjourned the next hearing to the 18th. Meanwhile, the judge dismissed the petition filed by former investigator Sridhar seeking bail.
