Ukraine: Russian fighter jet crashes into residential area
STORY: A plane crashed here. To be more precise: a fighter jet of the Russian Air Force, in the middle of a residential area in Chernihiv, Ukraine, in the north of the country. Members of the Ukrainian Defense Forces spotted the Sukhoi on Wednesday. Nothing was initially known about the fate of the pilot. The Ukrainian authorities announced on Monday that the Russian attackers had withdrawn from the north of the country, including Chernihiv. After the withdrawal from the greater Kyiv area, the fighting has increasingly shifted to the east of the country. The shelling of towns in the east and south continues, the British Ministry of Defense tweeted on Friday, citing information from military intelligence.
