After canceling its cryptocurrency project -‘Diam ‘, a new report on the’ Financial Times’ website today (Thursday) claims that ‘Meta’ is considering the development of a different type of currency.

According to the report, the company is developing a currency known by employees as “Zack Bucks” after chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The currency will not be cryptographic and is expected to mimic the way the currencies operate in computer games.

The currency will be a kind of token linked to all ‘meta’ platforms, the company wants to emulate the success of large gaming companies in the field such as Robux.

In addition, Meta is examining the possibility of launching “social tokens” that will be awarded as a reward for significant activity in Facebook groups and the like.

Meta spokeswoman Lauren Dixon said in a statement to The Verge that “we have no updates to share today. We are constantly considering product innovations for users, businesses and creators. As a company, we focus on building for the Matevers and that includes what payments and financial services might look like.”
