The Government of Tamil Nadu has raised property taxes in the Corporation, Municipality and Municipality areas of Tamil Nadu.
A protest on behalf of the Kumari district BJP took place yesterday morning at the Vadacherry junction in Nagercoil condemning the property tax hike. District Chairman Dharmaraj presided over this. Treasurer Muthuraman, Vice-Chairmen Dev and Jagannathan presided.

Speaking at the protest, District Chairman Dharmaraj said: –
Poor people in Tamil Nadu are most affected by the property tax that is currently being raised. DMK about that. The government is not worried. The government should take action to reduce property tax. The people will learn a lesson from this in the coming elections.
Police have arrested Jayaprakash, the leader of a campaign team who spoke at a public meeting in Aralbaymozhi. This is highly reprehensible. The biggest protest will take place on Tuesday (Tuesday) in Aral, condemning this.
A protest will be held in Mandakkad tomorrow (ie today) condemning the attack on a BJP leader in Mandakkad.
