Chennai Meteorological Center Director P. Senthamarai Kannan said on Friday that there will be light to moderate rain with thundershowers in a few places in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karaikal on Saturday due to the circulation and convection of the upper atmosphere over Sri Lanka and adjoining areas. Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, West Thotchi Hill Districts, Delta Districts and one or two adjoining districts are likely to receive heavy showers.
