Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated the South Indian Media and Entertainment Conference at Nandambakkam, Chennai.

The two-day conference will discuss the contribution of South Indian cinema across India, technological development in films, the impact of social networking sites on films, how to give recognition to high quality films released on a low budget, the next phase of development of ODT technology, and how to attract the general public to theaters.

The 2-day event will feature 300 different screen celebrities.

Leading director Gautam Vasudev Menon, Mani Ratnam, AR Murugadoss and various stars including composer AR Raghuvan are expected to attend the event tomorrow.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin spoke on the occasion: –

After 11 months as the Chief Minister, I left Dubai and Abu Dhabi to pursue career advancement. I went to Delhi on the basis that the state should rightly ask for rights.

Then for the first time artists are proud to be participating in the show. Who came first and was once a filmmaker. I have also acted in a few roles in a few of my films. I have also participated in theatrical stages. So, I am eagerly attending the South Indian Media and Entertainment Conference.
