Sri Lankan Finance Minister Ali Sabri has said he will do everything he can to revive the country’s economy.

All Sri Lankan ministers except Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa have resigned due to the political turmoil caused by Sri Lanka’s economic crisis.

Following this, four ministers, including Ali Sabri, were sworn in last week. In this, Ali Sabri, who took charge as the Minister of Justice, submitted his resignation letter within 24 hours of taking office.

However, Ali Sabri was responding to a question raised by TNA MP MA Sumanthiran in the Sri Lankan parliament on Friday afternoon.

‘I am speaking today as Minister of Finance. The Chancellor has given me the responsibility of Finance Minister.

The international community, the IMF and its allies, especially the European Union, have stressed that this political uncertainty is detrimental to the country’s future.

I will do everything I can for the country if no suitable person comes forward for this post. ‘

Ali Sabri has confirmed in parliament that he will continue as Sri Lanka’s finance minister as President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has not accepted his resignation.
