Chennai: The controversy has arisen as the Tamil girl film shared by composer AR Rahman on his ‘Twitter’ page seems to be a retaliation for Amit Shah’s pro-Hindi speech.
Speaking at a meeting of the Parliamentary Business Language Committee in New Delhi yesterday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “People in different language-speaking states should speak Hindi instead of English. Hindi as an alternative to English; Not an alternative to state languages. ‘
Condemnation
Chief Minister Stalin, Alagiri, Ramdas, Vaiko and others have condemned Amit Shah’s speech. He also mentioned Bharathidasan’s line, ‘Inpath Tamil is the root of our rightful crop’.

Rahman, in general, does not want to be embroiled in any political controversy. In this case, the film, which Rahman shared, has sparked controversy as Amit Shah retaliated on the very day when he spoke of the need to use Hindi as an alternative to English.
