No one is safe from being kicked out…
DSDS candidate Emine Knapczyk (18) had to experience this painfully. During her appearance at the last recall in Italy, hit producer Toby Gad (53) still had goosebumps. In the end, the Berliner flew out anyway. But there was a surprise.
The last twelve “superstar” contenders for a ticket to the live shows sang in front of the dreamlike backdrop of the Lecce amphitheater. Only ten could make it. Emine had her problems with the choice of songs. She was assigned “Behind Blue Eyes” by Limp Bizkit. She didn’t know the song.
During the rehearsals, some notes went wrong. She also found it difficult to sing in English. When the stylists arrived to pretzel Silbereisen’s top 12 for the show, panic finally set in. Emine fluttered his nerves. “I’m shaking all over.”
Toby Gad in particular was looking forward to her performance behind the jury desk. The successful producer presented Emine with the golden CD at the casting because he was so enthusiastic about her smoky voice.

While it was announced by Florian Silbereisen, the hotel manager’s knees were still shaking. While Emine was determined to do her best, she admitted, “I don’t know what the outcome will be.”
Although again not every note was right, the number seemed to go down well with the jury. The young singer was even rewarded with a standing ovation. Toby Gad cheered on his protégé’s performance: “Wow, goosebumps!” Florian Silbereisen called out to Emine: “You can be proud of yourself!”

The 18-year-old was accordingly happy. But her joy didn’t last long. When the ten live show candidates were announced in the final decision, she wasn’t there. It wasn’t enough for Dominik (23) either. Disappointment was written all over their faces.
But what nobody knew at this point: after the foreign recall, Silbereisen’s favorite Mechito (29) also had to leave the RTL show, although he made it into the live shows. The rapper had concealed from the broadcaster and the jury that he had a criminal record for assault and that he was still on probation.
For the eliminated candidates, this means that one of them will move up. At the first live event, Emine and Dominik compete in a sing-off duel for the vacated seat.
