Neta D’Souza, the leader of the Women’s Women’s Congress, has questioned Union Minister Smriti Irani about the gas price hike.

Petrol, diesel and cooking gas prices have been rising sharply since the by-elections in five states, including Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. To this end, opposition parties across the country are protesting against the federal government. But the federal government says rising fuel prices have become inevitable as the corona curfew and the war in Ukraine have hit the economy hard.

Meanwhile, Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare Smriti Irani today flew from Delhi to Guwahati, Assam.

She was accompanied by Women’s Congress leader Neta D’Souza. Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport, all passengers were about to disembark.

D’Souza then asked Smriti Irani, “Why is the price of cooking gas soaring?” Questioned that. Responding, Smriti said, “The central government is providing free food items to the people of the country. 100 crore people have been vaccinated free of cost.” On hearing this, D’Souza said, “This is not the answer to the question I raised.” This led to an argument between the two on the plane.

Later, Netta D’Souza inquired about the shortage of cooking gas cylinders. To which Smriti Irani went on to say, “Please do not lie.” Both men videotaped the incident on their cell phones.

However, D’Souza first posted this on the social networking site. This video is currently going viral.
