X Fold, Vivo’s first folding device

by time news

Vivo, the Chinese phone maker that has only recently been officially imported to Israel, has officially announced the X Fold, which is its first folding device.

The Vivo X Fold comes in a configuration very similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold from Samsung, with a huge internal screen measuring 8.03 inches, and a smaller external screen measuring 6.53 inches designed for faster use without the need to open. Both monitors enjoy a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and both have fingerprint scanners embedded under the display.

Again, similar to Samsung’s device in its latest versions, the X Fold’s screen is protected by thin glass (Ultra Thin Glass), and folds on a hinge that allows full deployment in a tablet configuration, as well as partial opening at angles between 60 and 120 degrees. In fact, Vivo claims that the X Fold should survive no less than 300,000 folds without any damage, while Samsung only commits to 200,000.

The rest of the specs definitely match that of a flagship device in 2022, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, along with 12GB of working memory and 256 or 512GB of file storage. The rear camera system includes four cameras: 50-megapixel main, 48-megapixel with a wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens with a 12-megapixel sensor, and a periscope lens that magnifies up to five times with an 8-megapixel sensor. In addition, both the internal screen and the external screen come with a selfie camera in the drill, with a resolution of 16 megapixels.

The battery has a capacity of 4,600 mAh, with support for wired charging with a power of up to 66 watts, or wireless with a power of up to 50 watts. As for the price, the X Fold will sell in China for starting at $ 1,400, and the company currently has no plans to market the device in the West.

However, since the company is of course a member of the BBK corporation, which also includes Oppo, OnePlus and Realme, it is quite possible that the configuration of the X Fold and its specifications are a thick hint of the models that other companies belonging to the group will announce later this year. , With clearer plans for global marketing.
