The Ilka Bar reopened after the attack; Bennett, Bar-Lev and Huldai came to support

by time news

Dozens of partygoers arrived tonight (Monday) at the Ilka Bar on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv, four days after the murderous shooting attack that took place there. Some of the customers even stood in line for a seat and said that they came to support the bar where Barak Lufen, with them Magini and Tomer Morad, were killed, after a terrorist from Jenin opened fire on them on Thursday evening. Outside the bar you can see police vehicles still securing the place since the attack.

Many of the customers live in the area, but others have come from more distant places. Among them are Mina and Liron, 50, who live in Switzerland and watched the incident while they were in Zurich. “I was debating whether to cancel the flight or not,” Mina said. “I moved to Switzerland 25 years ago but my heart is here. Yesterday I reached the square and did not continue because I was scared. Now we sat opposite, examined the place, we were not sure they would open. We took courage and came for a drink.”

Among those sitting at the bar was also the prime minister Naftali Bennett Who arrived in the evening to strengthen the owners and residents. “There was a very difficult incident here, people were killed here, people were injured here, good people,” he said.

He added that “we will not let them, our enemy, stop our lives. We will not let them defeat us. We will return to live and we will simultaneously fight in their places, in their bases, in their sources, and we in God will win. I love you very, very much. “

Mayor Ron Huldai also visited the place, ordered a beer and sat next to the rest of the partygoers. Another customer said: “We work in a restaurant in the corner. I myself helped a guy who was injured and the rescue and rescue forces. We put the customers inside,” said Shlomo Sopir, one of the people sitting there.

Minister of Internal Security Amar Bar-Lev visits the Ilka pub in Dizengoff: “Tonight the” Ilka “pub in Dizengoff opened for the first time since last week’s attack. I came to strengthen the owners and those who spend time there. “Our great power is evident, the look ahead, the knowledge that even if we are harmed we will not be broken. We will continue to live, prosper and flourish. We will win.”

“We saw the Ilka open and decided to come and support the place and show that we are not afraid of what is happening here. We are here and will stay here. Life goes on, whoever is afraid will go to Sweden. I immigrated from Italy and here much better,” he added.

Moran Zalma, another client, said: “We know the owner and we decided to come and pick up. They said they did not publish it too much but wanted to open today. “On Saturday we went to Serbsa, which is the same owner, the bars are empty. You go back and forth here and know all the people who work.”

The attack took place last weekend when a Palestinian terrorist who arrived in Tel Aviv from Jenin opened fire with a gun at blazers in a bar. Defenders, Tomer Morad and Barak Lupen were killed with them in the shooting. At the end of a chase that lasted several hours, the terrorist was located near Clock Square in Jaffa and killed during an exchange of fire with GSS and YMCA fighters. Nine people were injured in the attack, three of them in critical condition.
