The Israeli swimming team continues to record achievements at the Stockholm Open and tonight (Monday) Anastasia Gurbanko was in the spotlight, with two gold medals in the 200 backstroke and 200 individual medley, in about half an hour. The 18-year-old Olympic finalist first jumped into the water for the 200 backstroke final and set a personal best of 2: 10.84 minutes, the second result in Israel’s history, just 8 hundredths of Aviv Barzali’s Israeli record.

After a short rest, she reached the 200m personal mixed final, where she also led from the opening to the last touch, with a quick time of 2: 10.43 minutes, ahead of world champion Katinka Husso of Hungary. In doing so, Gorbanko raised her balance in the competition to five medals, including three gold, one silver and one bronze.
