Apple’s gaming controller patent exposed, designed for iOS devices – Qooah

by time news

For a long time, the outside world has been rumored that Apple is developing a game console based on ARM hardware.

According to Patently Apple, a patent released by Apple recently hints that the Cupertino tech giant is developing a gaming controller that can be seamlessly connected to iPhones and iPads. Patently Apple pointed out that Apple may test three different styles of game controllers for various smart devices.

According to reports, Apple did not apply for a patent in the United States, but turned to the European market, applying for a patent in Europe on March 31, 2022, numbered WO2022067344. The patent description contains three different styles of game controllers, among which FIG 6A, 6B, 6F, 6J and other components can be connected to the iPhone or iPad, and the operation method is similar to the Nintendo Switch.

The second game controller can transform the Apple device into a device similar to the NDS, and control it through the secondary screen. The last gaming controller is more traditional in style and works with the Apple TV, and it will offer a switch that allows users to activate Game Mode, Messaging Mode or Phone Mode.

At present, these three game controllers are still in the patent disclosure stage, and it is not known when Apple will announce this product.
