Zombie disease is scientifically known as ‘Chronic Waste Disease’ (CDC). The disease affects deer, moose, reindeer, elk and Sika deer. At present no cure or vaccine has been found for this disease.
Unexplained weight loss is the first symptom of zombie disease. This will affect the way things are done later. Symptoms include dizziness, tremors, inaccuracies with other animals, salivation, and frequent urination. Fear of deer against humans will also disappear if infected with zombie disease.
Zombie was first diagnosed in the United States in the 1960s. It later spread to Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, Minnesota, and Montana. The disease was also diagnosed in 2005 in Alberta.
The disease has not yet been reported in humans. But experts say eating infected deer meat could spread the disease to humans. Scientists also suspect that careless handling of infected deer carcasses and contact with their secretions may cause the disease.
