Police say that 3 persons who went swimming in Ramboda waterfall have drowned and disappeared.

A group of 7 people who had traveled from Vavuniya to Nuwara Eliya the day before yesterday, on their way back to Vavuniya yesterday, reportedly went for a swim at Ramboda Falls.

Three of the seven crew members are facing disaster.

Police said two of the three missing were women.

Meanwhile, a police spokesman said four others had been rescued.

Police and the army are reportedly working together to find the three missing persons.
