நீடாமங்கலம்: Kurupagavan entered Pisces from Aquarius at 4.16 am on Thursday. On this occasion, the ordination ceremony was held at the Alangudi Apathakayeswarar Guruparikara Temple, which is revered as one of the Navagraha places. The ceremony was attended by a large number of devotees.

It was followed by 108 Kalasabhishek Yagpujas and 108 Kalasabhishekam to Kurupagavan. Following this, the golden armor was adorned for Kurupagavan and the Mahadeeparatna was shown. This morning, the anointing of the Blessed Sacrament, the decoration of the golden armor was done. The Mahadeeparatana was shown at 4.16 am when Kurupagavan shifted.

In this, a large number of devotees including former minister, Nannilam constituency legislator R. Kamaraj stood in a long line and worshiped Kurupagavan. Swaminatha Sivacharya and Gnanaskanda Sivacharya, the temple priests, performed special anointing ceremonies for the Lord and offered offerings to the devotees.
Sandalwood decoration was done in the shrines of Kalangamarkathavinayagar, Apatsakayeswarar, Elavarkuzhaliyamman, Valli, Deivanai Sametha Subramaniyar and Saneeswara Bhagavan.
Special arrangements: Various departments including the health department, fire department, revenue department and transport department had made various special arrangements on the orders of Thiruvarur District Collector Gayatri Krishnan. A large number of policemen were deployed on security orders on the orders of Thiruvarur District Superintendent of Police Vijayakumar. The State Transport Corporation operated special buses.
Arrangements for the ceremony were made by Temple Thakkar, Charity Assistant Commissioner Hariharan, Assistant Commissioner and Temple Executive Officer Tamilselvi and temple staff. The second phase of the ordination will take place from Monday the 18th to Friday the 22nd.
