Pathanamthitta: A youth has been arrested in a case of molesting a 15 – year – old girl by her father’s friend. Pathanamthitta Adoor police arrested Ananthu from Chengannur. Sanju, a friend of the girl’s father from Adoor, was also arrested in a case of giving alcohol. Sanju gave liquor to the girl and her friend at an empty house in Nellim. The tragic incident took place on Wednesday evening.
Ananthu, a native of Chengannur, called the Adoor police station and informed that the girl and her friend had been served alcohol. Ananthu, who was in Adoor at the time, came with the girl’s mother to bring the girl back. The police had also reached there at that time. After seeing the police, Sanju gave alcohol to the girl and her friend and escaped from here.
He was later caught with the help of locals. It is alleged that Ananthu beat Sanju before arresting him and handing him over to the police. Later, when the girl was questioned in detail, she confessed that Ananthu had taken her to an empty house three times and had physically abused her. Based on this statement, a case has been registered against Ananthu by various departments including Pokso.
