Representatives of various political parties have held an emergency meeting with former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga. The meeting was held at the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall, Colombo.
Leader of the Opposition Sajid Premadasa, MPs Kumara Welgama, Chambika Ranawaka, Ranjith Madhuma Bandara, Rishad Bathiudeen, Raoub Hakeem, M.A. Political figures including Sumanthiran, Anura Yapa Abeywardena, Sushil Prema Jayantha, Kabir Hashim, Eran Wickremaratne and former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya have held talks with former President Chandrika.
It has been reported that lengthy discussions have taken place on issues including the current economic crisis in the country, the ongoing struggle of the politically neutral youth and the need to change the political instability and create a stable state.
