Karnataka Minister KS Eeswarappa on Thursday resigned over the death of a contractor who complained of bribery.
Santosh Patil, a government civil contractor from Belgaum, had on March 30 accused Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister KS Eswarappa of asking for 40 per cent commission to get government contracts.

He died mysteriously on April 12. In his pre-death letter, he stated that Minister Eeswarappa was responsible for his death.
As the affair caused a stir in state politics, Minister Eeswarappa was charged by the police with inciting suicide.

In the midst of a serious political crisis, KS Eeswarappa has announced his resignation as a minister. He has said that he will submit his resignation letter to Chief Minister Basavaraj tomorrow.
